Baseline survey

UNICEF, Ethiopia; Baseline survey to revitalize new-born corner in health facilities in Ethiopia (February 2011- April 2011):

This UNICEF-funded baseline study was conducted for the Ethiopian Pediatric Society (EPS). The survey generated baseline information on the health facilities’ capacity and health workers’ knowledge and skills on management and care of newborn complications including resuscitation skills. It helped in designing training materials to improve the knowledge and skills of practitioners. The study covered 60 health facilities throughout Ethiopia including 10 hospitals and 50 health centers. The survey methods included facility record reviews, interviews, knowledge & skill assessments/tests, and observations, etc.
