National outcome evaluation

World Food Programme (WFP), Ethiopia; National outcome evaluation (2011) of the targeted supplementary food program in six regional states (July 2011- May 2012):

This assignment aimed at measuring the effectiveness of the Targeted Supplementary Food (TSF) Program in reducing the severity of wasting in children 6-59 months of age and lactating and pregnant women. It measured the specificity of the Extended Outreach Service Mid Upper Arm Circumference (EOS MUAC) measurements to identify moderate and severe acute malnutrition as defined by weight-for-height z-scores and MUAC measurements taken by experts’ measurers. The study was conducted in two rounds (baseline and follow-up) with three months gap in between, before and after food distribution in Oromia, Amhara, SNNP, Tigray, Somali & Afar regions.
